Christopher Anderson 

Christopher Anderson went to the Pas-de-Calais region in Northern France, which used to be the industrial heart of France due to the local coal mining industry that had employed thousands. In the 1990s the last mines closed and soon after heavy industry left the region. Once a stronghold of the French Communist party, the French 'rust belt' is beginning to shift to the right, with workers aligning with the National Front’s Marine Le Pen, who promises to bring back jobs to the area.
