Centrist Emmanuel Macron and far-right candidate Marine Le Pen went head to head in the final presidential debate on Wednesday May 3rd, which was viewed by more than 15 million people. The candidates traded insults throughout the two and a half hour debate, with Le Pen calling Macron a “smirking banker,” while he accused her of feeding off of France’s misery and telling lies.
Voters will ultimately decide France’s future on Sunday May 7th, in the final run-off election.
