Robert Delpire, legendary French producer and photo editor, passed away on September 26, 2017.
In the early 1950s he founded Editions Delpire, where he published some of the most celebrated photobooks in the history of the genre, including Les Américains, by Robert Frank and Les Gitans, by Josef Koudelka. He published many books by Magnum photographers, from Henri Cartier-Bresson and Josef Koudelka to Werner Bischof and Inge Morath.
In 1982, Delpire created the Photo Poche collection, which remains one of the most successful series of photobooks ever printed.
