Albania is a small country in the heart of the Balkans. Despite its rich culture, people outside do generally not know much about it. It is also my homeland, the place of my early childhood. I grew up separated from it, and returned later to pick up the threads that were left behind 10 years later, because in the meantime I was illegal and had no documents. My country had changed so much, and so had I. I couldn’t recognize my city, or even my neighborhood, I just knew what I had lived there.
