On August 15th India will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its independence from the British Empire. With The India Independence Act of 1947 the British Parliament partitioned what was known as British India into two new nations: Pakistan and India. Pakistan was to be a Muslim-majority nation, while India would be secular. The newly drawn borders caused violent revolts that led to hundreds of thousands of casualties and displaced millions of people, especially in areas along the hastily drawn border, known as the Radcliffe Line. Decades later, the relationship between the two nations remains tense....
