The German Dog Industry
Martin Parr
Dogs are big business in Germany - the total turnover of the dog industry is worth 4 billion Euros annually, with millions being spent on their ( and their owners) well being. Martin Parr travelled round to look and record anything from a huge dog show in Neumeunster to
visiting a hospital where dogs are operated on under the strictest codes. He also documented a hotel where you can only stay if you bring a dog, posh dog shops in upmarket Munich and lastly a de luxe hotel for dogs , within a few kilometers of Munich airport, where a " kennel" can cost around 100 euro a night.
