To commemorate the beginning of the 2019 Venice Biennale, French luxury house Dior and the Venetian Heritage Foundation hosted the Tupelo Ball, an opulent "party of the century" that has been held in Venice since 1951 and attracts some of the world's most famous art and fashion luminaries. Alex Majoli photographed Dior jewelry at the ball throughout the halls of Venice's Palazzo Labia, a location that embodied the event's theme - the restoration of the city's cultural heritage and architecture.
