French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel passed away on 25th August 2016. Born in Paris in 1930, Rykiel became famous when she created the Poor Boy Sweater, which made the cover of ELLE fashion magazine. This creation gave her the unformal title of "Queen of Knitwear", in 1967. It was followed by a serie of innovations in the fashion industry and by the creation of her own company, Sonia Rykiel.
