Seijin Shiki, or coming-of-age ceremony, held at “Belle Vie” wedding hall in Koriyama on January 8th, 2012, appeared to be a deliberate effort to move forward from all the calamities that have befallen the youth of Fukushima in the past months. This ceremony, traditionally taking place in every city, town and village for celebrating young people who turn twenty during the year, was a unique occasion to catch up with old friends scattered throughout the country since last March.
Many of the young people who attended the ceremony have past the years of their youth...
