Senator Joseph I. Lieberman is facing a tough fight in the Democratic primary from challenger Ned Lamont.

Lieberman, the one-time vice presidential candidate and three-term incumbent, has been dogged by many Democrats due to his support for the war in Iraq.

Challenger Ned Lamont, entrepreneur and political newcomer, has capitalized on the war's unpopularity in Connecticut by accusing Lieberman of being too close to President Bush and the Republicans.
