Consignment - First Popular Front government in France.

Composed of Socialist and Radical Socialists with the support of French Communists, the First Popular Front government came to power on June 5, 1986 after winning 376 out of 618 votes in the May 3rd elections of 1936. The new government introduced a wide program of social reforms in strong support of workers' rights and welfare. These policies simultaneously raised the hostility of capitalists and employers.
