On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked New York City, flying 2 planes into the World Trade Center and leveling the towers. Thousands of people were killed and even more affected by this tragedy. New Yorkers reeled in shock in the weeks following the attacks trying to comprehend what happened and in fear of what might come next. In the following few months, many made their way down to the site of what used to be the World Trade Center to see for themselves the destruction and loss.
