On the day of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding Martin Parr spent time documenting local festivals in England’s Black Country; so called due to its centuries-old coal and steel industries. Martin focused on street festivals in the town of Walsall which featured games for children, outdoor grilling, and an abundance of patriotic display.
