Pioneering British filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock was born 110 years ago on August 13th 1899. Arguably the most successful director within the suspense genre, his career spanned almost sixty years, during which he directed 67 films. Though his projects earned a total of fifty Academy Award nominations he himself only received six of these. Regardless, he will forever be remembered as one of films' greatest craftsman.
