Elder American statesman Ted Kennedy has passed away at the age of 77 after a long battle with brain cancer.
Kennedy, known as "The Lion of the Senate", represented Massachusetts for almost 47 years making his tenure the third longest in Senate history. Though he never received the Democratic Party's nomination for President, Kennedy remained an important force in his party earning him respect from even Republican foes. Throughout his career Kennedy served as a beacon for liberal causes, especially during the Reagan era when he was outspoken against many of that administration’s policies. ...
