In a city which facilitates marriage, divorce, gambling and prostitution, investments seem to be endless. The construction of Hotel Mirage (3.044 rooms) in 1989, mostly financed by junk bonds, started a new era of exotic "entertainment cities" creating large employment possibilities.
The staff of one hotel only, The Bellagio, is more than 8.000 people!
René Burri's images capture the, somewhat absurd, atmosphere of the city.
