Exhibition - Parking spaces 

Martin Parr 

This project from Martin Parr looks at the global problem of where to park your car. Parr has photographed the last car parking spaces in more than 28 different countries. Surrounded by a minimum of 2 other cars these photos inevitably tell us about the topography and cliches of the country depicted. From a Statue of Lenin in Russia, a canal cruise boat in Amsterdam or a war torn building in Beirut. The accumulated photographs will tantalise the viewer by showing them one thing they will always be searching for in life, somewhere to park the car. This project is part of Parr's on going exploration...
