Unicef is launching a global campaign, Unite For Children, Unite Against Aids, which will focus on Africa, but also target Central Asia and Eastern Europe. The UN agency says that 18 million children in sub-Saharan Africa could be orphaned by Aids by the end of 2010.

Unicef says children are being overlooked in the global fight against HIV and Aids and that only 5% of HIV-positive children get medical help and fewer than 10% of the 15 million already orphaned by Aids get financial support.
