Students and workers protested the 4th of April 2006 in Paris against the CPE ( First Employment Contract ), a contract for those under the age of 26, that allows employers to sack them at anytime, for no particular reason, during the first two years. The French President, Jacques Chirac has passed the contract into law, whilst at the same time asking the government to rethink the aspects that people are protesting about.
