Distro - 60th Anniversary Of Dior 

Magnum Photographers 

2007 sees the 60th anniversary of the House of Dior. The first Dior collection, shown in February 1947 was originally called the 'Carolle Line,' but became universally know as 'The New Look' when the editor in chief of Harpers Bazaar, Carmel Snow, exclaimed, after seeing the collection "Dear Christian, your dresses have such a new look" . With their narrow shoulders, exaggerated breasts, cinched waists and huge skirts they were the opposite of wartime utility clothing and brought back femininity and glamour.
Born in 1905 Christian Dior started his fashion career selling drawings to couture houses...
