Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has made a name for himself on the world scene by appearing as a maverick. But he does not forget that he was elected President upon a promise to better the daily life of Iranians. Every other week he travels to a province of Iran, to enquire about local problems, speed up construction projects, or initiate new ones.
