The Family Records Office, in Islington, announced recently that this facility will close in April 2008 and that the physical records will be replaced by a fully digitised format, with the historic paper archives being housed at the Office of national Statistics in Kew, London. The centre is popular for people investigating their family history and establishing family trees.
