USA. Washington. Global protest efforts.

Paul Fusco

On the Saturday before U.S. President George Bush issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Saddam Hussein to leave Iraq or face war, a coalition of diverse anti-war groups staged a protest in Washington, D.C. to denounce military action. They came from many states to listen to speakers at the Washington Monument and to march around the White House. It was a peaceful march without incident, but with much energy and passion in their rallying for peace.
