The death of PETER ALICKE, a young neo-nazi in Germany, is a parable of the politically and socialy treacherous situation in which Germany finds itself with regard to its young. The last 3 years of ethnic violence in Germany (24 dead since the fall of the wall, 1480 racially motivated attacks in the first 9 months of 1993, a 22-fold increase over a decade) have left both east and west sides of the country battle-scared and apprehensive. This is a rare, intimate portrait of the lives and deaths, within a clique of neo-nazis in Hoyerswerda, a coal town in eastern Germany. Riots in the town of Solingen, the result of the arson deaths of 5 turkish women at the hands of neo-nazis are also covered.
