In the middle of the North Sea between the coast of Scotland and Norway are 6 vasts platforms attached to the bed of the sea, they're manmade steel atolls used for the research and pumping of natural gas and petroleum from beneath the sea bed. 300 engineers and technicians work over these platforms and are regularly transported there by helicopter from the heliport of Forus near Stavanger on the Nowegian coast. The "Frigg" plaftform,( named after the Scandinavian godess ODIN : God of Abundance and Fertility), is part of a group of 6 platforms,shared by the French petroleum companies ELF & TOTAL Beneath these installations are over 230 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which are programmed as part of the vast energy program furnishing Western Europe.
