Westerners pay to fly MIG 29's at the Zhukovsky air base near Moscow. For the last 50 years the Zhukovsky airbase's flight Research Institute has been the centre of the Russian aviation and test flight programme. Up until a few years ago it was totally top secret. Now with the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the cold war, you can go there and fly supersonic, state- of- the- art military aircraft. It seems in the brave new world of Russia'a market economy, nearly everything is up for sale, providing of course you have the money, and those with the money, the high flyers can now literally be that.
