Waruhic, son of Itote, alias General China, no. 2 in the Mau Mau hierachy, surrendered to security forces on 15th January 1954, after a brief skirmish, during which he was wounded in the throat. He was brought to trial on 1st February 1954. The Mau Mau were fighting against British rule in Kenya.
