High in the forest-covered mountains of Kigezi, on the boundary between Uganda and the Congo (Kinshasa) lies an area called Naisuru, 8000ft. high and densely covered with lush rain forest vegetation. The area is sparsely populated by tribes known as the Forest People, and pure Batwa pygmies who live entirely from hunting. They wear home-cured skins and for adornment a few beads or brass bangles. The Bachimbiri and Wagasero cultivate small shambas to grow millet.
