After US President Donald Trump publicly announced that he was taking chloroquine as a preventative against Covid-19 and while several countries like Brazil are betting on the use of chloroquine and its derivative, a study published in The Lancet recommends that these treatments not be administered outside of clinical trials. Reactions to the publication of the study have been numerous. In France, the Minister of Health has positioned himself by alerting on the inefficiency and risks of certain Covid-19 treatments including hydroxychloroquine.Last April, at the height of the epidemic in France, Antoine D'Agata visited the IHU, the Marseille University Hospital Institute for Infectious Diseases, that focuses on researches and care against infectious disease. Directed by professor Didier Raoult, the IHU teams have been on the frontline of the Covid-19 sanitary crisis.
