Eyes Wide Open! 100 Years of Leica Photography

The first venue in a European tour of St. Peter's welcomes this summer the exhibition Eyes Wide Open! Based on over 350 vintage prints you can discover the rich history of 100 years of Leica photography.
The compact Leica camera released in 1925 ensured that the photography could escape from the studio. At that point photography became accessible to everyone and began a part of everyday life. Eyes Wide Open! outlines the rapidly evolving world view resulting from this change.
The exhibition will feature the work of internationally renowned photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Araki Nobuyoshi, William Eggleston and Bruce Gilden, alongside original sketches, magazines, books and Leica devices but also a special selection of photographs of Belgian Leica photographers. One of which, John Vink, will exhibit a few vintage prints from his ‘Water in Sahel’ story.
