During Newsha Tavakolian’s youth the political and social climate in Iran prevented families from taking vacations to public sites but today, Iranians are eager to venture out and explore the country. On assignment for the New Yorker, Tavakolian visited some of these vacation destinations, some historic and others rich in natural beauty.
