Turkey’s Border : Akcakale's Dispatch

Since Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched a ground and air assault on northern Syria against Kurdish militants on oct 9th, insisting that it is fighting terrorism, border towns have been paying a heavy price as they’ve been under rocket and mortar fire.
With already 20 dead and 80 wounded in Turkey, communities have been hurt at home and old wounds and anxieties have reopened in southeast Turkey’s deeply traumatized population.
Emin Ozmen visited the Turkish city of Akçale, on the border with Syria where the population is experiencing artillery exchanges and fleeing the region.
