Creative Photography workshop with Rafal Milach

May 24, 2019
Join photographer and visual artist Rafal Milach for a 4 day creative masterclass in Beijing, in collaboration with Light Society

“A key focal point of my current artistic practice is the clash between non-heroic gestures and ostensibly neutral spaces, which are in fact set against a political background of current events. The oppressive nature of the areas I investigate is reflected in architecture, objects, and suitably formatted social structures. ”
- Rafal Milach

Aimed at photographers with a good understanding of photographic practice, the workshop will be lead by Rafal Milach through a daily program of discussions, reviews, group critiques, editing sessions, shooting sessions and the opportunity to learn amongst peers.

Using a variety of mediums to build a singular visual narrative, Rafal Milach will introduce the group to the experience of deconstructing mechanisms of classical photography, to encourage the group to find their own way of telling stories.

Through interactions with the urban space, researching and working with archives, participants will engage in project development process – from taking pictures to conceptualising the series.
