This event is part of the Magnum Photos x PHOTO 2020 Student Intensive: a five-day educational program developed by Magnum Photos and PHOTO to encourage professional advancement among students and early career photographers. The Intensive will take place in Melbourne, Australia between Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May 2020.

The Magnum Photos x PHOTO2020 Portfolio Reviews will provide a significant opportunity for artists and photographers to present their work to leading professionals in the field of photography for feedback and guidance.

Reviewers include: Emma Bowkett (Director of photography for the FT Weekend Magazine, London), Shannon Ghannam (Global Education Director, Magnum Photos, London), Patrick Waterhouse (Artist & Editor-in-chief of Colors magazine, London), Marisa Bellani (Director, Roman Road, London) and Ying Ang (Artist and Director, Le Space, Melbourne).

The event is aimed at early to mid-career photographers seeking advice on an existing body of work or portfolio. Each participant will be placed in a group of 10 photographers and participate in two 150 minute review sessions led by one reviewer, during which they will present their work to the group for feedback.

Upon submission applicants must supply:

• CV (max 1 page)
• Biography (max 500 words)
• Project Statement (max 500 words): Tell us about the current project or body of work you will be presenting
• Up to a maximum of 20 images in a PDF document.

Applications will be reviewed by Magnum and Photo 2020 staff.

Fees

The registration fee for the Portfolio Reviews is $160 full and $145 concession to be payable upon selection for the portfolio review.
