Through the Sigor program, the Italian Development Cooperation aims to increase revenues and ensure food security of the rural population of Sigor – about 12 thousand people – through the construction of an irrigation system of about 800 total hectares exploiting the water of the Wei Wei river.

Thanks to the project, farmers’ incomes have grown by 15 times, encouraging the development of commerce, satellite activities, education and the use of public health services.
