In the past weeks, thousands have taken to the streets of Brussels to protest against the signing of TTIP and CETA free trade deals.
The agreements will affect the way goods are traded between the EU and the US and Canada, but demonstrators are concerned that the agreement could affect food, labour and environmental standards across the member states.

Assassination of Kem Ley, Cambodian Activist

On the morning of Sunday 10th, political activist Kem Ley was shot dead in a service station of Phnom Penh.
An angry crowd of about 1000 people gathered in front of the shop, preventing the authorities from carrying away the body in an ambulance.
This assassination is yet another strong sign of a continuously deteriorating political climate in Cambodia.

Abdul Sattar Edhi: 1928 - 2016

Abdul Sattar Edhi, creator of the largest public welfare charity in Pakistan, passed away on Friday, July 8th. He will be honored with a state funeral.
Edhi ran a string of charities, ranging from orphanages, safe houses for women, mental institutions, identification services for deceased homeless and much more.
