In September, 2016 Paolo Pellegrin photographed firefighters on the job in Aulnay-sous-Bois, a suburb northeast of Paris. He documented them as they responded to emergency calls throughout the area: from car accidents to medical emergencies in the heart of the densely populated housing projects; as well as the locals who gather to survey the scene.
