Archive - The spire of Notre-Dame

On 15 April 20219, the spire of Notre Dame collapsed in flames.
After two years devoted to making the building safe, studying the project and then preparing the site, the restoration work began.
The spire, an assembly of 1,000 pieces of wood, assembled in a workshop by carpenters, has been restored to its place in the Paris skyline, 96 metres high, topped by its reliquary cockerel.
Scaffolding weighing 600 tonnes and spanning 48 levels was erected to install the spire. 
Patrick Zachmann, who has been on site since the beginning, was able to document the various stages of the work.
