Magnum Photographers

A coup d’état in Chile headed by General Augusto Pinochet overthrows democratically elected president Salvador Allende. Allende gives his last speech vowing not to resign, and will be then found dead.
Pinochet exercises dictatorial power until ousted in a referendum in 1988, staying in power until 1990.
