Feature - Wildfires in Northern California
Starting on Sunday, October 8th, Northern California has experienced a series of devastating wildfires that have leveled entire neighborhoods and continue to burn. Despite over 8,000 state and local firefighters pulling 24-hour shifts, the fires continued to spread throughout the week, aided by tinder dry conditions and high winds. As of the 12th 191,000 acres have burned with 31 people killed and 3,500 structures destroyed. 285 people are still reported missing in the wine-growing Sonoma County.
