Established in 1972, New York’s Carter-Burden gallery only represents and exhibits the work of artists who are over the age of 60. This unusual policy was put in place to address industry bias against older emerging artists.
On assignment for AARP, Jerome Sessini photographed six Carter-Burden artists in their workspaces.
