Following a demonstration against the far-right National Front in Southall, left-wing activist and teacher Blair Peach died of a fatal head injury. Peach’s injury, according to sources at the time, was thought to have been caused by a police officer. Chris Steele-Perkins was in Southall on Saturday April 28, 1979, following the death of Blair Peach to capture the public response, involving large numbers of the local South Asian community.
