The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is a secure fortress which houses virtually every single seed known to man. Its mission is to ensure crop diversity and safeguard these seeds from worldwide crises including war, nuclear disaster, and natural catastrophes. It holds more than 860,000 samples of crop diversity.
