Art critic Li Xianting said that the trilogy, including the first set about patients at mental hospitals, the second set about the pilgrimage of Chinese Catholic devotees, and the third set about the life of Tibetan peasants, was a symbol of men's modern mentality, and represented Lu's hope for men's great mentality to be restored.
Lu Nan says it would be enough for him if his pictures were appreciated by five people in the next 25 years.
