Magnum Photos looks back through its archives to highlight the enduring mark Black artists have made on American art. Whether it's the jazz of Louis Armstrong or Duke Ellington, or the words of Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou, art in its many beautiful forms has become a testament and declaration of existence and resistance.
