Feature - KENYA. 2005. The Places We Live #1: Rooms of Kibera.
Kibera houses nearly one million people on less than a square mile, almost entirely in one-story, one room mud and wattle dwellings. Families are large, and each room often sleeps up to ten people, some in beds, chairs, on tables, or on the floor. Photographer Jonas Bendiksen uses photographs to reconstruct a variety of these rooms, with one photograph showing each of the four interior walls, as well as the families who call it home.
