Feature - Remote Area Medical Mission, Appalachia
Between July 20- 22, 1200 volunteer doctors, nurses and students participated in the Remote Area Medical (RAM) annual outdoor mission caring for over 2500 Appalachian poor who could not afford health care. Patients were treated in barns, pavilions, and in portable tents after sleeping in the car lot all night and standing in line for hours.
