Paolo Pellegrin visited Georgia to explore its contemporary spirituality. What he found - from the 'spirit wrestler' Doukhobor sect in the mountains, to the mosques and synagogues, to the churches of the capital city at Easter, was something ancient: communities engaged with their beliefs in a way that reminded him of how Italy used to be.
