In several regions of Tunisia like in Fernanah, Ain-Drahim, Kasserine, Bizerte, wildfires have destroyed more than 3,100 hectares of forests, which is double to last year. In this period when the Saharan wind picks up, the temperature increases by 7°C which, tied to a new temperature record at 50.3°C, can generate seasonal wildfires. Due to these fires, many villagers lost their fields, olive trees, bees, cattle and even their houses.
