The conflict in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinians has been growing since the fall of 2000. Riots and violence quickly ecalated from rock throwing to machine guns and homemade pipe bombs aiding Palestinian suicide bombers in the growing vonflict. As the years go by the troubles in the Middle East seem to have alife of their own. In September/October of 2000, Israeli soldiers kill 15 Israelie Arabs in riots, and over 500 Palestinians in retaliatory raids afterwards. Palestianians return witht he killing of over 100 Israelis. The violence gets worse as we enter the years 2001 and the beginning of 2002. over 15 Palestinian Sucide bombers attack Israeli cafes and other public spaces in the past 4 months. Israel has reponded to these attacks with the invasion of numbers of Palestinian refugee camps. Once within the camps houses are leveled and an untold number of Palestinians are killed in the search for Palestinian terrorists. The number of Palestinians killed is in dispute with Israel claiming about 100 and Palestinians believing hundreds of refugees dead, and no hope of having an accurate account due to the mass destruction in the villages. Both Israeli's and Palestinian's mourn their dead and grow angrier with each passing day filled with violence. With no hope of peace in sight for the near future, many New Yorkers have been gathering for Pro-Palestinian and Pro-Israeli demonstrations throughout the city, voicing their support for the two groups and praying for peace in the war torn Mid-East.
